Hi.
I'm Susan Griak.
I design jewelry that I want to wear.
Years ago, living in New York and not making much money, I would visit Barney's and admire all the amazing jewelry on the main floor.
It was like inspecting gorgeous, otherworldly specimens.
This was the early 90's and the Chelsea Flea Market was in full swing, so I started buying secondhand pieces that I would take apart and put together in new and interesting ways to try to replicate what I had seen.
Next I discovered the jewelry district, and metal-smithing classes soon followed, and before I knew it I had acquired many, many tools.
I especially enjoy making jewelry for my friends, they joke that I make it "from scratch," and my goal is to bring a smile to their faces.
I hope you like what you see.
